These are the terms for using BCGroundwaterWire.ca and for subscribing to the BC Groundwater Wire. By using the site or subscribing, you agree to them.
General Information, Not Advice
The Wire publishes general information. It is not legal, engineering, geoscience or regulatory advice, and reading it does not make you a client of the publisher. The Disclaimer is part of these terms.
Subscribing
You subscribe by confirming your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email. What subscribers receive, and when, may change. We may end a subscription that is being misused.
Using What We Publish
The Wire’s articles, briefings and changelog entries are © BC Groundwater Wire. You may link to anything, quote short passages with credit and a link, and forward a briefing to someone who would use it. Ask before republishing a whole article, a briefing, or a run of changelog entries.
The Province’s laws, records and data remain the Province’s. Where the Wire uses provincial open data, it does so under the Open Government Licence – British Columbia.
What You Send Us
If you send a question, a story or a correction, you give us permission to use it on the Wire, edited for length and clarity. We don’t publish your name, or anything that identifies you or your property, without asking you first. Please don’t send information about other people’s water use. A correction is checked against a primary source before anything on the record changes.
Other Sites
The Wire links to other sites, including services the publisher has a commercial interest in, as the About page explains. Each of those sites has its own terms and its own privacy page.
No Warranty
The Wire is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and current, and we correct errors when we find them, but we don’t promise that it is complete or without error. To the extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for any loss that comes from relying on what is published here.
Changes and Governing Law
We may change these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute goes to the courts of British Columbia.
